Adoro te devote, latens Deitas, quae sub his figuris vere latitas: tibi se cor meum totum subjicit, quia te contemplans totum deficit.
***
Godhead here in hiding, whom I do adore,
Masked by these bare shadows, shape and nothing more,
See, Lord, at thy service low lies here a heart,
Lost, all lost in wonder at the God thou art.
I stole this shamelessly from The Crescat this morning. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if I'm offended, scandalized, entrtained, confused, or horrified.
Captions, anyone?

Okay, You know I had to respond! LOL
Here are some of my immediate thoughts...
'Jesus Sat' (A very large crowd gathered around him so that he got into a boat on the sea and sat down. Mark 4:2)
'Chatting with Jesus'
'He was like a sitting pigeon' (okay, I'll get smoted for that one!)
'Come to me all you who are weary'
'Reclining with Jesus'
'And Jesus sat and ate with many sinners'
Okay, I have to get back to work... They say a picture is worth a thousand words...and Jesus is worth at least forty-fold! And you have a picture of Jesus - wow!
I would not be ONE BIT surprised to see this chair show up on the alter at the Cathedral in Los Angeles. Or for sale in "Liturgy Today" magazine and other sources.

How about creepy?
I mean - can you imagine sitting there with your arms on the arm rest and his nose poking you in the back of the head.
Nice thought perhaps - in some way - if you hadn't actually seen it.

Creepy is right!
It's more than a bit disturbing. I can't even come up with a caption - I just keep staring at it and shuddering.
Yech.
These are Cathy's dining room chairs.
*Is afraid to say she kinda likes it.. it'd make a great time-out chair--and no, not for the Cardinal!*
Terry ~ ROFL!
Anon ~ Hmmm...well, I'm terrified of that chair and if I was told I'd have to take a time out in it I'd behave!
The seat of wisdom
There is a special place in purgatory for someone who thinks up stuff like this (one can only hope).
Yeah...involving sitting in that chair through purgatory!
Carpenter, build thyself!

These comments are hilarious!
Vincenzo: Ray and Ter have never looked better. Very flattering. LOL!
"Here at St Espressus' cathedral, we like to think that Jesus is the chairman of every committee."
