Blessings!

Fr. V., my "cyber-bro" tagged me with a meme this morning, and the concept is a little different, because it's not about "me". What a great way to start the year!

The idea… it’s a game of tag with a difference, rather than looking inwardly, we look outside ourselves and bless, praise and pray for one blog friend. By participating in this endeavour we not only make the recipient of the blessing feel valued and appreciated, but we are having some fun too. We’re going to see how far the bloggin’ blessings can travel around the world and how many people can be blessed! Recipients of a bloggin’ blessing may upload the above image to their sidebar if they choose to. If you recieve a bloggin’ blessin’ please leave a comment on this thread here so that we can rejoice in just how many blessings have been sent around the world!

OK, so here are the people I want to bless:

Sara - Because she is so inspirational on so many levels, because she's the kind of person I would love to have as a sister and am happy to call friend (even though we've never actually met), and she made me her new wee one's "pseudo-godmother". So that's a gift of having a wee soul to pray for. Amazingly, we have so much in common, I really do wish that she wasn't 1/3 of the width of the United States away. (She DOES hail from the state of Ohio, though, just like Fr. V. Hmm...maybe I'm supposed to be living in Ohio and not Minnesota.) Oh, right, this is about HER, not ME...so, dear Sara, God bless you!

Cathy ~ This dear friend, whom I HAVE met in person several times is one of the reasons I have continued my blog. She contacted me via email one day and revealed that the information I was providing on my blog was helpful to her in her conversion, and encouraged me to continue. She had no way of knowing that I was actually wondering at the time if blogging was really making a difference for anyone. Because she has blessed me first with her encouragement, and then her friendship, I am proud to return this more "formal" blessing. Here's to you, dear Cathy!

Terry ~ Because he is always a surprise. His sense of humor doesn't end, and at the same time, he's also not afraid to "call it as he sees it" especially if the topic is a hot-button issue. He always shares the writings of the Saints and shares in greater depth wonderful explanations of what could, for us mere mortals, be very difficult to understand. For some reason, though, he always stands us up when we go out to eat at Don Pablo's.

My prayer for all of you is stolen from Father V.: That you will know better the worth and dignity with which your Creator cherishes you and that He send His blessings upon you in this New Year so that you will be constantly surprised by His love.

Now, here is your mission should you decide to accept it:

a) Bless 3 blog buddies each
b) Include the ‘God Bless you’ image in their post
c) Explain briefly why they are blessing the people they are blessing
d) pray/include in the post the prayer for the recipients of the blessing.
e)The recipient/sender of a blessing should type in the com box of Deb’s original post that a blessing has been sent to them so we can keep track of how many blessings are being given. For easy reference a link to her post will make it into Deb’s sidebar.

Thanks, dear friend!

Only 3 people?! That's going to be tough.

Cathy ~ Yeah, it was hard for me, too. So many people have really blessed me in so many ways. And some people have already been "Blessed" so I wanted to find people who have not been yet.

Uncle Jim ~ You know, if Fr. V. hadn't listed you, I would have. :-) You're a great "Uncle" to me! :-)

Maybe next year you'll have to come to our family reunion and meet the rest of the family. LOL!

Adoro, I'm so touched. I will have to think about this and then I'll be sure to pass the blessings along. What a beautiful "Christmas gift" you gave me! Maybe I need to make a visit to Minnesota (um, yeah, well, it won't be REAL soon!). But, as I've told you many times before, if ever you're in Ohio, we have a bed for you to stay in (and two wee ones to jump on you, you know, to make the experience authentic).

Terry ~ You deserve to be blessed. Thank you for all you do. Just quit standing us up. Seriously, Ray promises not to wear a ficus plant, Cathy will put down the veuve, and I will...well...I'll be surrounded by theological tomes.

Angels ~ Thanks for the link...I've updated. Happy New Year, dear friend!

Sarah ~ It would be truly wonderful to come visit you and your family. Your little ones can climb all over me if they wish. I really just wanna hold the baby. I haven't napped in a big soft chair while holding a warm, soft baby for a very long time. Best short snooze I ever had. (And apparently when someone saw that I was asleep, they tried to take the baby, fearing I would drop her...and I immediately woke up and gave them a very dirty look. LOL! Apparently that maternal instinct is very natural!)
