Fr. Tim Vakoc: Died June 20, 2009

I just learned the news. For those who are unfamiliar with Fr. Vacoc, he was serving as an Army Chaplain in Iraq, and was seriously injured in 2004 when a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee.

You can read the story at The Catholic Spirit.

For years we've been praying for him, and rejoicing at small gains he's made in that time, some of which are detailed in the article.

I'm really in kind of a state of shock right now...this seems so sudden!

Eternal Rest grant unto him O Lord, may your face shine upon him, and may he rest in peace.

I want to thank you for visiting my blog! I found you through the Vultus Christi (Fr. Mark) site, which I also just found today. I am very excited about Spiritual Motherhood and think I may be called to that. I will be praying about it and talking with my spiritual director about it. I'm sure it is not an apostolate in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee right now, but there is a first for everything isn't there?

My oldest son is 15 and feels that he is called to the priesthood.

I would like to ask for your prayers for both of us! Thanks for all that you do!

Anne ~ I'm not actually involved in any formal apostolate myself, although there is one beginning here. I'm not sure if that's what God wants me to do right now, but of course, spiritual motherhood is part of you, not just because there's a name for it.

But do discuss with your SD, definitely!

Prayers for you and your son!
