Another Blog Gathering

I'm starting to think blogging is my life. Is that a good thing? This evening I met up with friends Cathy, Ray, and the Hadleys, all local bloggers whom I have previously met. Cathy, Ray, and I took the Rail from the 38th street station with a bunch of Twins fans headed to the game at the Metrodome.

Of course, the Rail was packed, but cleared out greatly at the 'Dome, allowing us to breathe a little bit. We were meeting the Hadleys (Mitchell and Judith) at The Little Red Wagon on 4th street Downtown. And we had a great time.

Cool thing...the restaurant had the Twins v. Indians game up on a big screen at at one point I saw a guy who had been standing (trying not to fall down) on the train with us en route there. He looked like he was having a good time, although the Twins had their rear ends handed to them this evening. * sigh *

En route back on the Rail, two guys stepped on, accompanied by a nearly-visible cloud of pot smoke. And by the way one of them was rapping (yes, really), they'd been greatly enjoying their ditchweed for quite awhile. Cathy, always ready with a quip, snarked quietly, "I'll bet that rap must be really profound when you're high on pot!"

Thankfully they disembarked a station or two later, and the cloud went with them. Personally, I'm offended. I mean, if they're going to bring a cloud of potsmoke with them, the least they can do is be as funny as Cheech and Chong! But no...in this day and age, we get bad rap!

But I digress. It's always fun to see my friends, especially those who don't live in the same corner of my world, and it's literally been a couple years since I've seen my good friends the Hadleys.

Yet this brings up a new point. I have to ask; is it now a GOOD idea to meet people via the internet? Isn't that dangerous? But there it is; I've met some wonderful friends thanks to the medium of Catholic blogging and my life is better for knowing these people. (Um...I hope they can say the same about me!)

So I am doing some research to see what St. Thomas Aquinas has to say about this issue. More to come!
