Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel's Hope

We indeed live in exciting times.

Rosalind Moss is on EWTN tonight, on The Journey Home, (one of the shows that helped me to come back home). While the fact that she is forming a new religious community is old news, tonight she discussed it, and in a couple months, they will have their formal beginning.

For those who don't know, she is forming a religious community: Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel's Hope. They are an evangelistic community, will be in the streets, habited, a physical presence of God in our secular world. Not many details have been released as of yet, likely for very good reason.

I have seen commenters on other blogs or news stories who were pretty much demanding more info for those discerning, and of course, this information is necessary. However, I think that some of those need to understand that the Community is not yet formal, they are likely under very strict supervision, and it wouldn't be prudent to say more than necessary in this time of very early formation.

Many are expressing interest, and I'll admit I'm watching this closely. (Please don't jump to conclusions). And in any case, we should all pray for the success of this new Community, and remember the old advice: if it is of God, it will come to fruition and it will last. If it is not of God, it will die out, and by that fruit we will know it.

But I like what Rosalind Moss has to say about this, I loved her brief spiritual testament (she may have been Called as a 20-year-old Jewish girl), and I just LOVE the way God works.

So let us see where this leads. Exciting times, my friends. Exciting times for us all.

UPDATE: At the end of the show, Ms. Moss gave some additional information. She is going to take the name Mother Miriam of the Lamb of God. The Community will follow the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales, (and...that, like the Dominican intellect, follows St. Augustine.) They will wear full habits, floor length, full veils, full wimple and a scapular. I get the sense that the color will be black and white, but she did not say specifically.

The habit, I hear, is to be based on the Carmelite habit, but with blue scapular, for Mary. Carmel, being in Israel, seems like a good idea to me. I think this is going to be an amazing order.
