Adoro te devote, latens Deitas, quae sub his figuris vere latitas: tibi se cor meum totum subjicit, quia te contemplans totum deficit.

Godhead here in hiding, whom I do adore,
Masked by these bare shadows, shape and nothing more,
See, Lord, at thy service low lies here a heart,
Lost, all lost in wonder at the God thou art.
Adoro: As you know, this is a special day for those of us who are suffering in some way. We need to take a special opportunity to unite ourselves with his Burning Heart of Thorns.
I don't know where that thought just came from. Sometimes, I actually sound sane.
special affinity for this feast - i grew up in the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish - nuns in school made sure we knew the devotions and novenas to the Sacred Heart - at least for then. now, today, i have trouble remembering them - but i still take note when this feast-day comes around.
I stumbled into the Picasso collection while wandering around Europe in college. I was completely taken with this painting and it raised my respect for the man. He painted as if he didn't know how, but this early work shows that the man was master, regardless if his later works offended.

All God's Blessings to You on this beautiful Feast Day.
By the way, do you have a reference for the First Commuinion painting that you use on your blog?
I have seen it before, as part of a series, and I can't find my notes on it.
Peace
Happy Feast Day
God bless
richie d ~ I got that from a google search, but it is, believe it or not, Picasso.
Come to think of it, I found it at Abbey-Roads2, as that's how I learned it was Picasso.

I love this feast day, too.
God bless you, everyone!
And I also fixed the misspelling in the title all of you were too nice to mention. It's been driving me nuts all day. :-)

You have good taste, Adoro!
