On Abortion...

At my friend Cathy's blog, a typical anonymous poster who doesn't have the backbone to put ANY kind of name behind her words queries the following:

"When you say no abortion, what alternative are [sic] proposing to women? What, personally, are you willing to do {to help those who have a [sic] unwanted pregnancy} if you propose to stop all abortions?"

In return, I can't help but to pose this reply to our anonymous friend:

When you say yes to abortion, what alternative are you proposing to the unborn baby?  What, personally, are YOU willing to do to help those "unwanted children" if you propose to endorse their slaughter?

Are YOU willing to take the place of the unborn baby?

What are we proposing when we say no? A LIFE! A *WHOLE* human life. One that may involve suffering, pain, heartache, but a LIFE. A CHANCE to become GREAT and succeed above all odds.

I'd rather condemn someone to life than release them to death.

AMEN! In life, there is hope. Always. A child deserves that chance.

There are loads of pro-life societies and organisation willing to help women who have unwanted pregnancy - many choose not to see them because they would rather there was not an alternative

my response:
5th commandment: Thou Shalt Not Kill

Your mother said no to abortion and let you live. Are you willing to say no to abortion to allow your baby to live? Yes, willing. God gave us free will. Free will to choose to save a life and free will to kill a life. You pay the consequences for your choice. What will it be? To allow one of God's greatest beings to live or to kill His creation? You choose.

For me: My mom gave me life. I choose life, period. If I decide not to want the baby, there are so many options - including a couple that I personally know that is having a lot of trouble having a child of their own. Wouldn't it be wonderful to allow my child to live and allow them to be the parents I know they are.

Life - it's amazing, it's saddening, it's fearful, it's joyful, it's enraging, it's glorious, it's life.

Can I use that? Can I copy it, quote it, and send it to friends? Brilliant!

How about preventing abortion in the first place: don't have sex when ovulating if you're not looking to get pregnant! Sex often leads to babies. If babies are not a good fit for your life right now, how about practicing a bit of abstinence? Hmm?

Mother Teresa summed it up perfectly "abortion is the death of conscience" We are living in a civilisation where conscience has been dulled, and faulty reasoning become commonplace.Young people respond to the emotive slogans like pro choice and freedom. We must challenge their thinking wirh gentle love and bring them back to the justice of the issue.I find young people can be helped to see through the smoke and mirrors of the pro abortion rhetoric if you use calm logic.
