You know how it is, in the spring, when you've had a few days of melting snow such that the edge develops an icy "lip" over the sidewalk? And you know how under that lip is where the melting water runs on its way into the storm sewer?
Yeah, that.
I've discovered that stepping on that icy ledge creates an infinitely satisfying "CRUNCH!" when stepped on.
Ah...the joys of childhood that never die...

YES!!!!
Sebastian likes it too.
Fr. V.!!!! Wow! I thought you'd fallen off the face of my blog forever and I'd never see you again!
(And I still want to come back to OH and bring my dog to visit you and Sebastian...!)
*sigh*
My dog doesn't care about cracking that ice, but I sure do! (And admit it, Fr. V., you like to step over and step on that ledge, too, and other ice that has air pockets underneath....)
Whew! I thought the crunch was going to be followed by SLIP and another crunch. Glad it was fun...
That one for me is like splashing in puddles. I've never stopped enjoying either since childhood. Some things never get old.
Isn't that the best sound and feel ever?? Glad you reminded me.
Athanasius ~ Oh that's fun too but I admit I do it less when I'm walking with my dog as I don't want to have to clean her up!
Katherine ~ It IS! One of the best parts of spring!
I love that noise!! :) So satisfying!
We had a nice mini spring the past week but it is now snowing quite a bit again. That's what I get for living in MI I guess.

Totus tuus Maria!
MiriaRose I love not just the noise but the feel of it under my feet... *sigh*
Yeah, here in MN we're being hit with a storm now, although it's not as big a deal in my 'hood as it is only a few miles south of me!
