I know you have a great affection for our priests.Cathy_of_Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16795566831031491371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15170815.post-23480999541344463192009-11-13T10:28:04.061-06:002009-11-13T10:28:04.061-06:00So many wonderful priests have touched my life and...So many wonderful priests have touched my life and I am grateful to each of them for devoting their lives to tending to us for the Lord. I pray for Fr. P.K. and Fr. S.K., extraordinary priests with an innate spirituality and warmth, men born with a special grace. I pray for Fr. G.M., imprisoned but by no means silenced; still saving souls and ministering to those without hope, and doing it all with love. I pray for all priests in prison and I ask God daily to let them know that He loves them and has forgiven them for whatever their sins may be. I pray for Fr. P.S. who visits incarcerated priests in three states monthly at his own expense. I pray for Fr. F.M. who welcomes priests who need a new beginning at his retreat ranch. I pray for Fr. A.A. a priest critically ill, who contributed so much to the Church, and I ask God to take him in His arms and welcome him home. I pray for all the remarkable priests who have touched my life by their example. I am eternally grateful.Charlenenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15170815.post-86063078366629259722009-11-13T00:20:07.065-06:002009-11-13T00:20:07.065-06:00Gosh, so many priests so little space in which to ...Gosh, so many priests so little space in which to thank them. Good thing that God knows each of them VERY well!

One priest, Fr F is wonderfully warm and wise and we've known him since we were wee ones.
He is the most patient priest, especially when listening to my little brother read (lame) jokes to him out of a kids joke book when he was about 8 years old!
Even now, he works tirelessly and NEVER complains about a thing. I don't think he ever sleeps! I've never heard him say a bad word about anyone.

Another priest I grew up with - Fr Mc, worked as a parish priest until he was about 82. Even then, he was 'asked' to retire by our Archbishop who was afraid that he might have a fall or something. Being a parish priest without any parish staff, this was a legitimate concern, but we could tell that Fr was heartbroken. He would never disobey his superior though.
He now lives at the nursing home for priests, cared for by the sisters. He quietly insists on offering Mass there EVERY morning and I think his ideal way of parting from this world would be to die on Our Lord's altar.
When we go and visit with flowers or chocolates he promptly gives them away to the sisters. What a man!

There are so many others, and I'm ashamed of myself that I don't remember them in my prayers as much as I should.Mrs Doylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11872007851868294609noreply@blogger.com
