V. ~ You know I just love you, right? You're one of my inspirations.

Theocoid ~ That's awesome. Being that I have a Social Services/Behavioral, etc., background, I can't help but ask what's being done with resources...and what we can do to better assure they are being used correctly. Solution; instead of money, give food. Bible...always great, and even if you are a bishop, you can't guarantee what someone is going to do with the Word.

I don't pass through Minneapolis as much anymore, but I do want to help the poor directly. I'm thinking of keeping a supply of stuff "just in case" so I can hand it out if I pass through the area.

I'm also thinking of using that same stuff to live on myself as a form of mortification. He came by to ask for money and he was clearly already high. He was stunned. He stood with me and he ate it and we chatted. I often wonder what became of him and I pray he is off the streets and sober today.

Sometimes, given food rather then money is the better choice. Listen to your Angel-as clearly this student did.

Beautiful story. I'm crying. People almost always accept them happily when I offer them.

I'm of the mind that what people do with what I offer is between them and God. Another thing one can do is support organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul, either as a volunteer or with donations. This society helps with food and clothing; and in our town, one-time rent assistance. All of which may prevent someone from becoming homeless.Melody Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00442985285647041700noreply@blogger.com
