Thanksgiving Mass for the Hawthorne Dominicans

For those who have not heard the news. the Hawthorne Dominicans who have been serving Our Lady of Good Counsel Home for sixty-seven years, are leaving. I, for one, am very saddened by this news for I recently made the acquaintance of Sr. Mary de Paul, their Superior and had been hoping to remain in contact with her and the rest of the community. (Not for myself, but on behalf of others).

I came across this information on St. Mark's webpage:

The Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne
request the honor of your presence at a
Mass of Thanksgiving
celebrated by
The Most Reverend John C. Nienstedt, S.T.D.
at the Church of Saint Mark
November 21 at 2:30 p.m.

This is in gratitude for the sixty-seven years of service to our Lady of Good Counsel Home in St. Paul. Reception immediately following Mass in Carolyn Hall.

The Dominican Sisters will be leaving Our Lady of Good Counsel Home within the next two months. While we are sad to leave, we are very happy to announce that another health care ministry within the Archdiocese is assuming the operation of the home and the mission will continue in St. Paul. Everyone is invited to join the Sisters on this day
.

November 21st is next Friday, and I'm going to try to attend that Mass if I can leave work early enough to do so.

God bless the Hawthorne Dominicans now and as they move on to their next ministry.
